First, I went to Dasi. The above picture is of the late President Chiang Kai-Shek (Taiwan's first). His park is filled with the many statues of himself that have been gathered here. There were many fish, butterflies, birds, and flowers. Very HOT out.
I visited his mausoleum, as well as a mini-museum devoted to his history. I even signed the guest book:
Next stop, a very scenic area.
We ate lunch here. Noodle bowls. Everywhere you look, someone is selling something in their store, at a vendor cart, or on the sidewalk.
After lunch we went to Dasi Chiang Kai-Shek Park, and had a look about. The Tahan Rivulet trickled nearby. Well, it didn't trickle, but it wasn't nearly as fast or deep as the Fraser River.
There's a coffee shop/artist villa nearby where we stopped for refreshments.

You've got me doing some serious Googling now! You are certainly covering a lot of ground--good job! There is so much to see and it all looks fascinating. And refreshing. It looks like lime zest, but what is it that looks like a mini carrot at the bottom? Are the drinks more, less or the same sweetness as North American ones?
I know, I was pleasantly surprised to have covered this much ground so far. It won't be like this every weekend, but it's great to have local guides!
It isn't lime zest, it's some kind of grass. The mini carrot is actually a tomato, oddly enough.
Some of the drinks are really sweet, but in a different way than North American ones. Iced tea and milk tea are really popular here. I didn't see any bubble tea carts when I went to the night market last week.
