Listening to music in a foreign language
I'm surprised at the number of people I talk to who have trouble understanding that it can be an enjoyable experience. "But, you don't know what the singer is saying" - that seems to be a common response. There are other ways to enjoy music.
Also, I'm sure that many people don't know or understand the lyrics to a lot of the music they listen to, even though it's in a language they are familiar with. Lyrics are also open to interpretation, so that adds another dimension.
Just sayin'.

I agree. I love Puccini. No clue what the words mean but there is no mistaking the emotion. Also anything in Spanish.
Yeah, I think it is a common phenomenon in Taiwan, because there are so many foreign culture imported in Taiwan. Such as USA, Japan, England, korea,etc,. You can see that when the singers of other country come to Taiwan, there are a lot of fans greeting with them. Even though the fans might not know the languages they said. I liked to listen to different kinds or languages of music, because you can admire the singer's voice. I also like to read the lyric if I know the language. Like Japanese, after I learned it, I started to try to read the lyric the best I can.
