It's actually worse than the China Post suggests. Krosa will pass 90 miles north of Taipei, with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph in the course of Friday 7 October. Taipei will see winds of 60 mph. This forecast comes from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (https://metocph.nmci.navy.mil/jtwc.php) summarised on my Tropical Cyclones blog (http://tropicalcyclones.blogspot.com/).

Hope it doesn't ruin your weekend.

Worse news. The center of Krosa will pass straight over Taiwan, according to the latest JTWC forecast. Winds near the center will be topping 135 mph, with hurricane force winds extending 65 miles from the eye.

I guess Krosa wants to visit Taiwan. I'll keep checking the news and your blog for more info.
